DRIVER QUALIFICATIONS

No valid licence no hire. Age between 21-70 years. Minimum two years driving on a clean full licence (minor endorsements acceptable). Age 21-23 no accidents or convictions. Original licences (both parts where applicable) showing groups of vehicles the holder is entitled to drive must be produced at the beginning of every rental.

GENERAL

Secondary I.D. is required in the form of a current passport or security pass from a well known employer with photograph & signature. If you possess neither of these a cheque book with guarantee card may be accepted. The above should be accompanied by proof of current address i.e. utility bill. Payment before departure in full. A valid credit/debit card number is required to secure a booking, which acts as a guarantee of payment for cancellation, fuel shortages and insurance excess amount.

HIRE PERIOD

The hire period runs from 8.30am to 8.30am. A charge of £20.00 inc. vat for the first half hour will be made for any inconvenience caused by late returns. Thereafter the hirer will be charged the full daily rate. Please note this is a penalty charge and not an extension of hire. Weekend rate from 8.30am Friday to 8.30am Monday or 8.30am Saturday to 8.30am Tuesday.

INSURANCE

Only hirers completing hire forms are insured to drive. Fully comprehensive cover is included in the hire rates with a deductible excess per incident of £500 (£750 for drivers under 25) for cars and vans; £750 for people carriers, minibuses, Lutons and 7.5t vehicles for any damage to, theft of, or attempted theft of a vehicle during the hire period. All incidents must be reported by the hirer within 12 hours. Please note that our insurance does not cover neglect. The hirer is responsible for all damages caused by collision with overhead objects and associated costs, along with all damages to windscreens, tyres, light lenses, door mirrors and interior.

OPERATORS LICENCE

It is the customer's responsibility to hold an operators licence if you are hiring a G.V.W. over 3.5 tonnes for commercial use.

CONTINENTAL USE

A 33% surcharge is added to the current rates for continental hires and Southern Ireland. Green card issue fee & VE103b vehicle on hire certificate is charged at £35 plus VAT. We require that continental breakdown cover is taken out, which we can provide at extra cost (insurance excess increased to £1000).

FUEL

MINIMUM REFUEL CHARGE £20.00 INCLUDING VAT

All vehicles run full to full. Please check that the vehicle is full before leaving the premises as mistakes can not be rectified at a later date. Fuel type is labelled on key rings and on the filler cap. A minimum refuelling charge of £20.00 which includes up to the first 10 litres and thereafter £2.00 per litre inc.VAT will be made on vehicles not returned full. The hirer is required to return the vehicle in the same clean state as originally hired out or there will be a cleaning charge.
STRICTLY no smoking & no pets.

CANCELLATIONS & AMENDMENTS

A minimum of 48 hours notice is required before a cancellation or amendment of a booking, otherwise a full days hire will be charged, (this includes failing to produce the correct documents at point of hire).

RESTRICTIONS

For cars and vans all drivers need to be aged 21 and over. For people carriers, minibuses, Lutons and 7.5 t trucks all drivers need to be 25 and over with licence catergory D1 for minibuses & C1 7.5t for trucks.
